Lyrarakis - Liatiko

Lyrarakis Winery, founded in 1966 by brothers Manolis and Sotiris Lyrarakis on the island of Crete, is dedicated to reviving and preserving rare indigenous grape varieties. The winery's commitment to sustainable agriculture led to its transition to organic viticulture in 2020, with many partner farmers following suit. Liatiko, one of Crete's prized grape varieties, is planted in high-altitude vineyards at 650 meters, mainly in Sitia and Rethymno. This light ruby-colored wine reveals aromas of red fruit liqueur, wild berries, and a hint of spices. Medium-bodied with soft tannins and balanced acidity, it showcases flavors of ripe cherries, plums, and a touch of cinnamon with a smooth and lingering finish. With a flavorful giros, this wine will create the perfect balance of messy and elegant, in a true Greek celebration.
