About
Quinta do Valdalágea is a family-owned winery steeped in tradition, nestled in the scenic Douro Valley. Named after a local historical figure, this Late Bottled Vintage Port reflects the essence of its terroir. It was founded in the late 18th century by João da Silveira Pinto da Fonseca, the Governor of Arms of the Beiras Province and father of the famous General Francisco da Silveira Pinto da Fonseca Teixeira, who was the commander-in-chief of the Portuguese troops during the Napoleonic Wars. After fermentation in a lagar with traditional foot treading, the wine is aged in oak barrels for four to six years, allowing it to develop its complex flavors. With enticing aromas of dark berries, chocolate, and spices, this LBV Port delivers a velvety mouthfeel and a long, satisfying finish.
