Tokaji is a wine region in northeastern Hungary. The Pajzos estate was classified as "first growth" all the way back in 1772, and its sweet wines quickly gained renown in the wine-drinking countries of the world. The local Furmint grape is the dominant one in the region, with intense flavours of stone and tropical fruits like lychee along with sweet spices. Fresh acidity gives the wine plenty of life, and its palate is full of complex flavours. This is a very interesting region — and a great grape — to explore!
