Since 1803, the Wohlmuth family have cultivated vineyards around the highest "wine-growing town" in the region of Kitzeck im Sausal, Austria. The extreme steepness of the vineyards, reaching at times over 90%, precludes any use of machines. The Sauvignon Blanc Ried Sausaler Schlössl is created from vineyards located about 600 meters above sea level, facing south-southwest and completely open to the nearby Alps. Expect aromas of tropical fruits, citrus, and delicate herbal notes. On the palate, the wine offers a refreshing acidity, balanced by a lush texture and lingering minerality.
