About
Alba, from Vinos Ambiz, is made from the Spanish Albillo grape. It’s an aromatic, complex, peachy orange wine full of creaminess, nuttiness and a slight oakiness. After aeration, it opens up with nice caramel aromas. The vineyards of Vinos Ambiz are located 50 km southeast of Madrid, and the winery itself is a small one, with just one hectare to its name. The crushed grapes combine with 2 days of maceration on the skins, followed by fermentation in stainless steel before 6 months of aging in an amphora, and ultimately bottled unfiltered. The wine is cloudy orange in the glass, so in order to keep each pour uniform, tilt the bottle a couple of times to redistribute the yeast.
