Salcheto is the name of the stream that begins at the foot of the town of Montepulciano and winding through a valley where willows once abounded. Chianti Biskero is an easy drinking, everyday wine composed of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Mammolo and Merlot grapes. A part of of this wine is matured in 300-litre American oak “tonneaux.” The 2020 vintage was just as complicated as the time it was made: late frosts, a humid spring, a summer with peaks of extreme heat and hail, and a rainy season finale. All this influenced the wine, giving it fresh red fruit notes and a hint of oak maturation aroma. The palate is light and smooth, with silky tannins and easy structure.
