In 2019, Falstaff, the influential gourmet magazine, named Christoph Neumeister Winemaker of the Year. 2 years later, he finally received their greatest recognition: The Neumeister winery gained its place within the ranks of the Falstaff 5-star wineries- An exclusive list only including the very best wine producers in the country. This wine, known as "Gemischter Satz Sarmat," is made from a blend of different grape varieties, grown together in the same vineyard. The term "Sarmat" refers to the geological era 12 million years ago, during which the subsoil of the landscape around the Neumeister Winery formed through lime deposits.
