Marjan Simčič - Sauvignon Vert

The Sauvignonasse grape is the new denomination for the former Friulano or Tocai Friulano, renounced by Slovenian wine producers in 2005 after the Hungarians won out over the other users of this name. Marjan Simčič grows Sauvignon Vert in Zegla, Podgredič, a wine that's extremely full-bodied, rich and with long lasting taste. After several minutes, a complex aroma develops, ranging from a herbal note to the fragrance of dried flowers. A touch of minerality can also be discerned. It leaves you with a pleasant aftertaste of ripe, bitter almonds.
